Joel Dettwiler, ChSNC^®

Hello! I am the Founder, Financial Planner, and Special Needs Consultant at Quantum Group Planners, where I dedicate my efforts to specialize in special needs planning and personal financial planning. Both of these areas are crucial yet often underserved, and I find immense fulfillment in addressing these gaps. People with disabilities and the “unseen people" in our lives are some of the most giving and loyal individuals, and I feel fortunate to surround myself with them every day.

Before venturing into financial services, where I’ve practiced the last nine years, I spent over fifteen years working as a college football coach at UW-La Crosse, Wartburg College, and UW-Platteville. My educational background includes a BS in Engineering obtained in 1995, an MS in Engineering in 1999, and an MS in Education in 2002. Over the course of my career, I have also earned the Series 7 & 66 securities registrations and the ChSNC designation in 2019.

What I enjoy most about my job is finding solutions that not only save people money but also empower them to make informed financial decisions. Helping special needs families navigate the tools and rules available to them is particularly rewarding. I firmly believe that the greatest values I can offer my clients are the work ethic and the effort needed to teach them how to design and run their own financial plans successfully.

Originally from Oregon, WI, I now reside in La Crosse, WI with my wonderful wife, Kristen, and our two teenage daughters, Ava and Lilly. Outside the office, I am actively involved in various organizations, having served as a former board member with the Downs Syndrome Association, La Crosse Autism Foundation, La Crosse Disability Action Network, and the Coulee Region CCOT Groups. In my free time, I love coaching my daughters in sports like volleyball, basketball, and track. Spending quality time with family and friends on the Mississippi River is a cherished pastime. Whether in my professional life or personal pursuits, I am committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those around me.
